TixFox vs Eventbrite: Fees, Fit & Tradeoffs

TixFox is worth considering when you already bring your audience and want a low flat ticketing fee. Eventbrite deserves consideration when its marketplace and promotion tools contribute sales. The right choice depends on the event's required workflows as well as the fee difference.

Compare the fee structure

TixFox publishes $0.39 per paid ticket, reduced to $0.30 below $5, with Stripe processing separate. Eventbrite publishes 3.7% + $1.79 per paid ticket and 2.9% processing per order for standard US online sales.

The following estimates model 100 tickets with fees absorbed, one ticket per order and no tax. Both columns include processing. Use the fee calculator for other quantities and buyer-paid fees.

Consider TixFox when

  • Your mailing list, community, partners or social accounts drive ticket sales.
  • You want a straightforward service fee that does not rise as a percentage of ticket price.
  • Your required features are supported in the current product and your connected Stripe account suits your payment needs.

Consult TixFox's feature documentation and verify the checkout, fields, door access and exports needed by your event. A feature list is not a substitute for testing your own workflow.

Consider Eventbrite when

  • Public discovery and familiar event listings contribute incremental sales.
  • Your team already has registration, marketing and reporting workflows that would cost time to replace.
  • A required capability is available in your Eventbrite setup but has not been demonstrated in the alternative.

Review Eventbrite's event-management features and compare your actual account. For assigned seating or complex conferences, also investigate the other tools in our alternatives guide.

Payouts and switching

Processor availability and bank deposits are different stages. Verify account-specific payout schedules, verification requirements and holds before relying on ticket revenue for venue costs. Avoid interpreting a connected processor account as a guarantee of instant bank settlement.

For an existing event, decide how refunds, attendee records and valid tickets will be handled before changing registration links. A small event can provide a useful trial without disrupting a full season.

Is TixFox always the cheapest?

No universal claim follows from comparing two providers. Eligible nonprofit plans, low-price tiers and prepaid discounts can change the result. Read the broader fee comparison and our editorial policy.
