Best Eventbrite Alternatives: A Guide by Event Type
By EventbriteAlternatives Editorial Team · Research & comparison methodology
Choose an Eventbrite alternative around the job your event needs to do. A charity auction, a seated theater show and a workshop require different software. A low headline fee is useful only when the platform can run your registration and event-day workflows.
This buying guide brings together our general alternatives and competitor comparisons. It uses provider documentation and published pricing, reviewed September 18, 2026. Our directory is for browsing individual products; this guide explains how to make a shortlist.
Start with your event type
| Your main requirement | Options to investigate | The decision to make |
|---|---|---|
| Low-cost general-admission tickets | TixFox, Ticket Tailor, TicketSpice | Compare total costs and the tools you need at the door |
| Nonprofit fundraising | Zeffy, Givebutter, Humanitix | Check eligibility, donation workflow, auctions and donor records |
| Assigned seats or repeated performances | SimpleTix, Ticket Tailor, Humanitix | Test the seat map and account for seat-related charges |
| A conference with sponsors and sessions | Cvent, Whova | Verify registration rules, session access, sponsor tools and implementation effort |
| A private reunion | See our reunion shortlist | Guest names, committee access and a reliable catering count matter most |
| Public event discovery | Compare the alternatives against Eventbrite itself | Estimate incremental ticket sales from the marketplace |
Low-fee ticketing: when you bring the audience
TixFox's published flat service fee is one option for organizers who already reach their audience. Ticket Tailor's prepaid credits and TicketSpice's event tools may also fit. Compare payment processing, unused credits, refunds and operational needs before making a fee-only decision.
Read the lowest-fee comparison for published rates and worked examples. This guide does not repeat a second fee table that could drift out of date.
Nonprofit alternatives
Zeffy and Givebutter have nonprofit models that can cover platform and processing costs under their stated terms. Humanitix publishes a charity/school rate. Eligibility and fundraising features are part of the comparison: a donation prompt is not a substitute for donor management or an auction workflow.
Use the nonprofit ticketing guide to compare these options before selecting a general ticketing platform for a fundraiser.
Seating and venue operations
SimpleTix, Ticket Tailor and Humanitix document seating capabilities. Ask for the workflow your room needs: individual seats, tables, accessible spaces, held inventory or repeat performances. Check whether free seats or reserved seats carry a charge even when general-admission free tickets do not.

Conference platforms
Cvent and Whova are options to investigate when the event needs conference registration and attendee engagement beyond a simple ticket page. Request a quote based on attendee numbers, event frequency, integrations and staff support. A quoted conference system is not directly comparable to a flat ticket fee without accounting for its included work.
When to keep Eventbrite
Eventbrite combines ticketing, public listings and promotion tools. Compare the additional ticket sales it brings with its extra cost. If your next event relies on that discovery, test an alternative on a smaller event before moving your entire calendar.
A switching checklist
- List the features you cannot compromise on: seats, guest questions, taxes, payments, accessibility and check-in.
- Compare the same sample order across providers, including buyer totals and organizer proceeds.
- Export attendee and order records you are entitled to retain, and check whether the new system imports the required fields.
- Plan how existing ticket holders will enter. Changing software does not automatically transfer tickets, refunds or payment obligations.
- Update the registration links in your website, email, social profiles and partner listings.
- Run a small event or controlled registration trial before moving a recurring series.
For private gatherings, our class reunion comparison and planning checklist cover guest-level requirements. For a direct view of documented capabilities, use the feature comparison.
How we make recommendations
We compare published information and describe the limits of the comparison. We do not turn unsourced star ratings into an overall winner, and documentation checks are not the same as hands-on testing. See the editorial policy for sources, corrections and our independent publishing approach.
