Nonprofit Ticketing Platforms: Free & Paid Options

For an eligible nonprofit prioritizing cost, start with Zeffy and Givebutter's nonprofit fee terms, then compare the fundraising workflows you actually need. A gala with auctions and donor follow-up is a different purchase from a simple paid workshop.
This guide compares five options using published terms checked September 18, 2026. It covers US pricing where a fixed rate is shown. These are documentation-based comparisons, not claims that we ran a live fundraiser on each service.

Free does not mean donors must tip
Zeffy says the nonprofit keeps the full amount even if a supporter leaves no optional contribution. Do not treat tips as a compulsory charge or imply the nonprofit is billed when donors decline. Zeffy's explanation.
Givebutter's nonprofit model also needs a settings-aware comparison: with tips enabled, its guarantee covers processing that supporters do not cover. When tips are disabled, its pricing page lists a 3% platform fee plus standard processing. Compare the configuration you will use, not a headline rate detached from its conditions.
Donations, auctions and donor records
For a gala, verify auction requirements before committing. Zeffy offers auction software, and Givebutter lists events and auctions in its fundraising suite. Ask about your particular live or silent auction process, table allocation, payment collection and receipt exports.
A checkout donation field does not by itself provide donor management, peer-to-peer campaigns or accounting integration. Make a list of the workflows your staff needs, then ask each provider to demonstrate them. Avoid assuming a fee-exempt platform donation is also exempt from card processing.
Compare the actual amount available for your event
For a ticketing-only comparison with fees absorbed, the following example models 200 tickets at $75, one per order, without tax. It includes processing in both columns.

An eligible zero-fee nonprofit plan may cost less than either option above. For platforms with charity approval or optional contributions, confirm your eligibility and settings before using a zero-cost budget line. Use the calculator to vary ticket quantities and order size.
Questions to take to a provider demo
- Can guests buy a table and supply each attendee's name later?
- Can donors give without buying an event ticket?
- Can supporters decline optional tips clearly?
- Which auction, donor-management and accounting functions are included in our plan?
- Can volunteers check in guests without accessing financial settings?
- Which exports contain payments, donations, refunds and attendee details separately?
- When do funds become available in the bank, and can the schedule cover our deposits?
- What proof of nonprofit status is required, and in which countries?
Run through a representative guest journey before publishing your event: one individual ticket, a group booking, a donation-only payment, a refund and a volunteer check-in. Record the answers rather than assuming the cheapest headline rate covers every step.
Choosing between these options
Prioritize zero-fee eligibility when protecting proceeds is the main requirement. Prioritize integrated donor and auction workflows when staff time and reconciliation are the expensive part. A straightforward ticketing tool can be appropriate if those fundraising systems already exist elsewhere.
